I'm still 16. Eventually, I'm still not on the age to vote this coming election. Thus, I am one of the millions of people here on the Philippines who's aware of the country's status.
I would also like to have a new president that will hopefully uplift the Philippines from her present level and will give us, the youth, a brighter future. Filipinos, of course, have different ideal president. We should know, we can never find all the dynamic attributes we are looking for in our presidentiables today because,it's like everyone's looking for a PERFECT president. We must admit, we can never find a flawless president. Come on! Everyone commits mistakes! However, Filipinos have still the list of people to choose. I, for one tries to judge the presidentiables by contrasting their backgrounds, platforms and views.
NICANOR PERLAS
Specific environmental advocacy groups have consistently ranked Nicanor Perlas as the greenest presidential candidate. This implies how he reaches out his concerns on our environmental aspects. Mr. Perlas introduced sustainable farming. He helped thousands of farmers change their farming methods from the use of deadly pesticides. This man is actually an agriculturist, that explains why he have so much heart for nature... He has, in fact, written many books about Politics and farming. I admire Mr. Perlas, but honestly, i don't think he'll win this race. If he were to run for senate he would’ve more votes!
JC delos Reyes
This man must've been an intelligent one, yet we can't deny the fact that only few people know this guy. I've learned that his mother is the sister of RICHARD GORDON, which is also a presidential candidate. I wonder if he was able to think not to run and just support his uncle. However, I think his sincerity is most felt by the people. ('yung nakakakilala lang din sa kanya).
Jamby Madrigal
I have finally seen a TV add for Jamby. But I think she's just using his lolo's name. She should've tried showing her platforms. I think that will make the add better. Thus, she's indeed very brave to try to be part of this race. She has so much will. I admire that but I don't think she'll win. She would've chance if she just run as a senator.
Richard Gordon
Gordon is a new wannabe president. As president to be, he has no track record to his name. As senator, publicity claimed he has the maximum contributions to his credit. Whatever it is, whether true or not, is not the point. The point is, if you choose a newbie, your certainty percentage ratio that he’ll perform and succeed is 50/50.
Eddie Villanueva
Someone whose faith is totally seen. I believe our next president should have the same strong faith to God like his. I don't know what he'll show if he becomes the president but it's good to know that he'll continue his advocacies whether he wins or not in the race.
Erap Estrada
During his term my I was still in Elementary, so I was not able to know much of him. I believe this man to be true to his intention to our country. He was focused on helping the common people. But when Erap was president; kidnappings, terrorist bombings, and murders were usual headline news. Anyway, that's just a hearsay.
Gilbert Teodoro
Many of his alliance now have fled away to different teams. It should be a very disappointing situation for him. But on a second thought it could also help him to uplift his name. hmmm. Teodoro is indeed an intelligent person giving his different concrete plans about the problems of the state, however the word administration coined to him somehow affects his status in the race. The administration has been described by many as "magulo". Well, it wouldn't be that way without the influence of Philippine media and some exaggerating words of the opposition. Well, if he wins, I just hope that his power of speech is as good as his works.
Manny Villar
I think among all the candidates he has the highest will and eagerness to be the president. Imagine! VILLAR HAS A MINIMUM OF 40 TV SPOTS A DAY AT A COST OF P10 MILLION EVERY DAY THE PAST 5 MONTHS FOR A TOTAL COST OF P1.5 BILLION – AND THAT IS NOT COUNTING HIS EXPENSES ON RADIO, DOLPHY, WILLLIE REVILLAME ETC,AND THE ELECTION OFFICIAL CAMPAIGN PERIOD HAS NOT EVEN STARTED – THEY SAY HIS BUDGET IS P20 BILLION AND ALL FOR A JOB THAT PAYS P200 THOUSAND A YEAR! He's a little bit desperate on that. Well, infairness, he has the experience and he doesn't have to hide in different BIG names because he, himself is a name.
Noynoy Aquino
Among all the presidentiables, I guess this man has the greatest hold in showbizness with the help of his controversial sister, Kris. He talks more about corruption. Maybe because he doesn't have any concrete work to show. Anyway, "ang pagpuksa sa korupsyon" as how he says it, indeed works for the masses. But at the very first place, he wasn't planning for running for presidency. It was after his mom's death that he was able to make up his mind to join the race. It makes me think that he was just a product of "why not him? afterall, he's a presiden's son" And if he wins, he should make sure that he won't be a "tuta" to anyone.
I am not a voter. but I want to share my ideas on this. hopefully, for those who have the chance to vote this May 10 will use their vote well. PLEASE DON'T VOTE THOSE WHO HAVE NO PLANS AND DOING NOTHING BUT TO LOOK FOR THE BAD THINGS ABOUT THEIR OPPONENT AND PULLING OTHERS DOWN. I observe some of them are just good in seeing the mistakes of others. The tendency if you’re focused in seeing the mistakes of others, you will not notice your own mistakes. Like not seeing the trees anymore because you are in the middle of the forest. And even meticulous in small things which may be even become irrelevant on a president’s perspective. Am referring to some candidates' rumbling about on the issue of dogs turned into game animals. Choose the person who stays on his foot, stands on his OWN and doesn't have to pull others down by throwing different issues... To the next president.... GOOD LUCK. May you bring the Philippines to her new brighter days.
